Toyon Honey

Toyon Honey (RAW, UNFILTERED) 1-lb Glass Jar

Rare and Delicious!  This honey is the 2023 summer crop harvested from Jeremy's coastal apiaries in See Canyon near Avila Beach.  Toyon honey has not come in for the last few years, but we saved a few cases!  Toyon is a California native shrub that blooms in July.  Toyon is also known as Christmas Berry and California Holly because of the distinctive clusters of red berries present during the Holiday Season.

Flavor profile is a complex layering of orange colored fruits like canteloupe, citrus, and pumpkin with an earthy undertone.  This is a great medium strength all-purpose honey.

This honey will naturally crystallize.  Crystallized honey is great for spreading on toast, and a spoonful will easily dissolve in hot tea.  To un-crystallize the honey, put the whole jar with lid on in a pot of very hot water for 15-20 minutes.
